Permissions & why we need them

• Notifications — to deliver task reminders, due-date alerts, and important updates
• Exact Alarm / Schedule Alarm — to trigger reminders at the precise times you set, even when the app is in the background
• Wake Lock — to briefly wake the device for time-critical alarms so you never miss them
• Receive Boot Completed — to automatically restore all your scheduled reminders after a device restart
• Vibrate — for haptic feedback when notifications arrive
• Read Contacts — to let you quickly assign tasks to people in your address book
• Record Audio — for voice-to-text task creation when you tap the mic button; we never record passively
• Internet — to sync your data across devices and power AI features

How we use your data

Your data is used only to make MindTask AI work better for you. Specifically:

• To run the app and reliably deliver reminders and alerts
• To power AI suggestions, smart scheduling, and memory features
• To sync your tasks and notes seamlessly across all your devices
• To identify bugs, crashes, and performance issues so we can fix them
• To improve the overall app experience over time based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns

What we don't do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data — ever
• We do not listen via the microphone in the background or without your explicit action
• We do not share your contacts with advertisers or any marketing platforms
• We do not store raw audio — only the transcribed text is retained
• We do not use your task content to train AI models without your explicit opt-in consent
• We do not serve targeted ads or build advertising profiles based on your data

Data sharing

We only share data with carefully vetted third-party service providers — such as cloud hosting and AI processing partners — who are contractually bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.

We may also disclose data when required to do so by law, court order, or other valid legal process. In such cases, we will notify you to the extent permitted by law.

Data security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) to protect your data. Access to user data is strictly limited to authorized personnel who need it to operate or improve the service. We regularly review our security practices to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Your controls

You are always in control. You can revoke any app permission at any time through your device's Settings app — revoking a permission will disable the related feature but will not affect other parts of the app.

To request a full export of your data, correct inaccurate information, or permanently delete your account and all associated data, reach out to us at the contact address below. We will process all requests within 30 days.

Children

MindTask AI is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time as the app evolves or as legal requirements change. For minor updates, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes that affect your rights, we will notify you directly via an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
